LBO crystal, short for lithium triborate crystal, is an outstanding nonlinear optical crystal. With the chemical formula LiB₃O₅, it has a wide transmission range of 155–3200 nm and can interact with various laser sources. It features a high damage threshold and can withstand intense laser beams without performance degradation, which is critical for high-power laser applications. LBO crystals also exhibit excellent optical homogeneity. It is widely used for frequency doubling, tripling, and optical parametric oscillators in high-peak-power pulsed lasers. Its excellent performance makes it an important component in optical systems such as medical lasers, laser displays, and optical data storage.
